Osteopath Croydon
Croydon Osteopath | Arc Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of Muscle and Skeletal conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues, as well as the nervous and circulatory systems, functioning smoothly together.
All our osteopaths work with you to restore your body to a state of balance using an individualised treatment plan to address your health problems. Techniques can include physical, gentle manipulation, stretching, and massage, with the aim of reducing pain, increasing the mobility of joints, relieving muscle tension, enhancing the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and helping your body’s own healing mechanisms.
Regardless of whether you have general aches and pains, reoccurring migraines, or muscular issues such as neck pain, shoulder, or lower back pain. Whether it’s something long-term such as sciatica or a recent sports injury. Our Osteopaths work by treating the cause of the complaint rather than just the symptoms. We will also generally provide advice on posture and prescribe exercises to aid recovery, promote health, and prevent symptoms from recurring.
As a regulated profession, all Osteopaths that practice in the UK have to be a registered osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council, a statutory regulated body that ensures high standards of professionalism, are appropriately qualified (a 4-5 year full-time degree), undertake a minimum amount of CPD and are insured to practice. Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners and have attained Allied Health Care Practitioner (AHP) Status. The term Osteopath is a protected Title.
Osteopathy is increasingly recognised by the allopathic medical profession, with guidance having been given to GPs by the General Medical Council with regard to referrals to osteopaths following decisions by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).
The Arc Croydon Osteopathic Clinic
Our Croydon Osteopathy clinic has grown from strength to strength over the years. We have provided long-lasting results through osteopathic treatment to a range of people from local residents, visitors who work in the area, doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, personal trainers, people from Hollywood, musicians, professional dancers and professional athletes.
Whether dealing with general aches and pains, mobility issues, sprains, sports injuries or accidents. Osteopathic treatment really is for everyone (not just sports people), and our registered osteopaths have treated all ages, from babies and children to 90-year-olds, with our gentle techniques.
We have forged good relationships with local companies, gyms and fitness companies over the 17+ years we have been in Croydon. We have close links to a variety of other healthcare practitioners who deal with not only the body but also the mind.
Historically, after 14 years working as a part of The Wellness Therapy Centre in Virgin Active, ARC Osteopathy was set up as a separate entity to focus on delivering high-quality Osteopathic healthcare and sports massage.
Led by our Principal Osteopath, Alan Rowe (who has more than 20+ years of Osteopathy), all of our highly trained Croydon Osteopaths are passionate about helping you improve and maintain your health. As trusted professionals, we are all registered with the General Osteopathic Council, have professional indemnity insurance, and are all DBS-checked.
While we are registered with all the major insurance companies, you don’t need insurance to visit us. As primary healthcare practitioners, you can book directly with us without a GP referral.
We are trained in various styles and techniques, including structural osteopathy, classical osteopathy, and cranial and visceral osteopathy. We also offer clinical pilates.
All of our osteopaths in our Osteopathic clinics are also trained in adjunct therapies, including Western Medical Acupuncture (dry needling), Ultrasound, Rock Taping, Taping and Strapping, and we will also provide you with ongoing exercises and a rehabilitative program as part of your osteopathic care. All so that we can provide the diagnosis and the most effective treatment individually tailored to you.
Our clients are also provided access to an exclusive video exercise library to help with pain relief and rehabilitation.
Although osteopathic treatments can help with various physical issues, such as recovering from an accident, sports injury, or back, shoulder or neck pain. You may be interested to learn it can also aid broader issues such as headaches from migraines, spasms, cramps and digestive problems. Please look at our website’s Body-Wide Issues and Paint Points pages for more information.

Patient testimonials
Alan and the team are wonderful. Have been a patient here for 2 years and followed them through both sites. The place is clean, am treated with a smile and care and always come out happy and feeling a few years younger. I would have no reservation recommending Arc Osteopathy for anyone looking for an Osteopath in Croydon.

Alan is a very friendly, professional & knowledgeable osteopath. In my case, my neck was feeling much better after the first (same day) appointment and back to normal after a second appointment a week later. Alan also provided video exercises to improve my condition. I will highly recommend the services of Arc Osteopathy! Thank you, Alan!

Early last year I was having terrible pain in one of my knees and could barely walk. Over a number of months Alan treated me and showed me what exercises to do and what to avoid. I am now signed off from treatment and enjoying doing everything I did before and more. Thanks to Alan.

I met Alan in 2013 when I had bruises my ribs. Thanks to him, I was able to climb to the top of Mount Kinabalu in South East Asia two months later. Since then, I swear by him. I cannot recommend him enough. I drive an hour each way to see him for a 30 min session. He is the best osteopath in London.
